Jay-Z will perform the halftime show at the 2027 Super Bowl, a role that will place him on stage at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on February 14. The announcement confirms that the rapper will lead the musical segment of the biggest game in American sports, a slot he has held as a key decision-maker through his company Roc Nation since 2019.
Roc Nation has partnered with the NFL to produce the halftime entertainment since 2019. As part of that arrangement, Jay-Z holds final authority over the lineup. He has selected himself as the headliner for this year's event. The specific date of the game is set, but the teams competing in the Super Bowl will not be determined until the final day of January.
While the headliner is confirmed, the guest list remains undecided. Halftime performers frequently invite additional artists to join them on stage, and industry observers expect Jay-Z to do the same. Several names have surfaced as likely candidates based on their professional histories and personal connections to the rapper.
Beyoncé is frequently cited as the primary option for a guest spot. She and Jay-Z married in 2018 and share three children. Their musical history dates back to the song "'03 Bonnie and Clyde" before they began dating. Their joint catalog includes hits such as "Crazy in Love," "Drunk in Love," and "Lift Off." Beyoncé has performed at Super Bowl halftime previously, including a 2016 set with Coldplay and Bruno Mars, and a 2024 Christmas Day show in Houston.
Rihanna is another strong contender. Jay-Z helped launch her career when he signed her to Def Jam Records in 2005, and she later joined Roc Nation in 2010. The two have collaborated on songs including "Umbrella" and "Run This Town." Earlier this year, Rihanna made a surprise appearance at Jay-Z's tour at Yankee Stadium. She headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023, where she announced her pregnancy.
Blu Ivy Carter, the couple's oldest child, is also on the list of possible participants. She performed as a dancer during Beyoncé's 2024 halftime show in Houston and joined her mother on the Cowboy Carter tour. Carter is often seen at NFL games with her father and has built a following among concertgoers who frequently request her presence at events.
Eminem rounds out the list of candidates with strong historical ties to the event. He joined Jay-Z on stage during his current tour. The two rappers collaborated on the track "Renegade" for the album "The Blueprint." Eminem performed as a special guest at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show, which featured a lineup of hip-hop artists.
